A Book Lover’s Dream Come to Life in Winter Park
This recent Winter Park senior photography session was something truly magical. When Addie’s mom reached out with a vision centered around Addie’s love for books, I knew we were about to create something incredibly special. From location scouting to prop styling, this session became a beautiful collaboration between senior, mom, and photographer – and the results speak for themselves.
This wasn’t the first time we incorporated Addie’s love of reading into her pictures. We also created a whimsical senior session in Winter Park with books, nature, and a completely different storybook feel.
Capturing Her Passion Through Photography
From the beginning, Addie expressed how important it was that her senior photos reflect her personality, not just her appearance. “I’ve always loved books,” she said. That’s all I needed to hear. Together, we planned a shoot that brought her story to life in the most creative and meaningful way.
Why Winter Park Was the Perfect Backdrop
I explored several locations before finding the ideal spot for her Winter Park senior photography session.
I have several favorite locations for senior pictures in Orlando, but I don’t choose a location simply because I’ve photographed there before.
If I don’t already know a location that fits your personality and vision, I’ll personally scout for the perfect spot.
Of course, I found the perfect location for Addie and it was Mead Botanical Gardens. It was quiet, bathed in soft light, and surrounded by natural charm. This peaceful corner of Winter Park was the perfect setting for a book-inspired shoot. The textures, trees, and open space gave us flexibility and beauty without distraction. There’s just so much beauty here!
A Team Effort that Made Magic
One of my favorite parts of this shoot was how involved Addie’s mom was. She helped bring her daughter’s vision to life, including styling a cozy reading setup with a chair and a cherished family heirloom quilt. It added warmth and nostalgia that couldn’t be replicated. It was so special that they made this part of Addie’s session, and I know these photographs will be treasured for years to come.
This kind of teamwork between photographer, parent, and teen is what transforms a photo session into a lifelong memory.
The Portrait Session: From Pages to Photos
As the golden hour unfolded, we captured portraits that felt like scenes from her favorite stories. Addie’s white dress photographed beautifully against the greenery, and it was a perfect example of how the right outfit can complement the location without taking attention away from the senior.
