Clermont Senior Pictures at a Record Store + Lake Louisa
When Mia started planning her senior pictures, she knew she wanted something that felt different and personal to her. As a Clermont senior photographer, I love when a senior comes to me with an idea we can build around, and Mia’s idea of photographing part of her session inside a record store immediately caught my attention.
Her senior session eventually took us to two completely different places in Clermont, Florida, with one day centered around the record store and another at Lake Louisa State Park. Even though the locations had completely different looks, they worked beautifully together and gave Mia a gallery with so much variety while still feeling connected to who she is.
Record Store Senior Pictures in Clermont
The record store gave us so many fun possibilities from the beginning. Between the rows of vinyl, colorful album covers, guitars, and music memorabilia, there were plenty of interesting backgrounds to work with, and the whole setting gave us a completely different feel from a traditional outdoor senior session.
Mia brought several looks that gave us completely different directions inside the store, from jeans and more casual pieces to the black dress, red tights and tall boots that gave part of the session a slightly editorial, vintage-inspired feel. Changing wardrobe while we moved through different areas of the store gave us a surprising amount of variety without ever leaving the location.
This is one of the reasons I love when seniors come to me with an idea, even if they aren’t completely sure how to make it work for photos. You don’t need to have the entire session figured out before we start planning. Bring me the location you’ve been thinking about, the Pinterest board you keep adding to, the outfit you really want to wear, or even just an overall feeling you want from your photos, and we can build from there.
I love creating sessions around the things that make each senior different, and Addie’s 1950s-inspired senior pictures are another great example. Addie brought me an idea she loved, and together we turned it into a session that felt completely like her. Mia’s record store session started in much the same way, even though the finished photos have an entirely different look.
Two Locations, Two Days, and So Much Variety
The record store was originally going to be one part of Mia’s session, but Florida weather had other plans, so we ended up splitting everything between two days instead of trying to squeeze it all into one afternoon.
It actually worked out beautifully because each part of her session had room to be its own thing. The record store gave us color, personality, music, and a little more edge, while her second day at Lake Louisa brought in open space, natural scenery, and beautiful evening light.

Lake Louisa Senior Pictures in Clermont, Florida
For the second part of Mia’s senior pictures, we headed to Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, and the entire feel of her gallery shifted in the best way.
Lake Louisa gives us wide-open fields, natural paths, tall grasses, water, and gorgeous light toward the end of the day. I’ve photographed seniors there before, including this senior session at Lake Louisa in Clermont, and I keep coming back to it because there are so many ways to make each session look different depending on the senior, wardrobe, season, and light.

For Mia, Lake Louisa was the perfect contrast to the record store, but we still carried pieces of her personality from one part of the session into the next. Her guitar came with us into the field, and we even brought records outside for a few photographs, which gave the two completely different locations a connection without making them look anything alike. Then we changed directions again near the water with her white dress, giving her another look that felt completely different from everything we had already photographed.
Your Senior Pictures Don’t Have to Look Like Everyone Else’s
Mia’s session is such a good example of why I don’t think senior pictures should start with choosing whatever location happens to be popular at the moment. A better place to start is figuring out what you love, what feels like you, and what you want to remember about this season of your life.
