When families ask me where we should take senior pictures, I usually start with a different question: What does your senior want the photographs to feel like?
The location matters, but it doesn’t need to be the prettiest or most popular place in Orlando. It needs to give us the right setting for your senior’s personality, clothing and ideas.
Some seniors want colorful streets, interesting architecture and photographs with more of an editorial edge. Others picture open fields, trees and sunset light. Your senior might feel most like herself at the beach, surrounded by books or carrying a guitar somewhere that connects to her love of music.
I photograph seniors throughout Orlando, Winter Garden, Clermont, Winter Park and the surrounding Central Florida area. These are some of the locations I genuinely use, along with real senior sessions that show how different each place can look.
Class of 2027 seniors are currently booking, so this is also a good time to start thinking about the setting your senior would enjoy.

Start with your senior instead of starting with a list of parks.
Think about what she wears, where she likes spending time and what she has saved for inspiration. Does she picture herself downtown in jeans and boots? In a long dress in an open field? Barefoot at the beach? Somewhere with colorful murals? Somewhere connected to music, books, sports or another interest?
You don’t need to figure this out alone. Location and outfit planning are part of my Senior Photography Experience, and we’ll talk through your senior’s ideas before choosing anything.
Downtown Winter Garden is close to home for me, and I’ve photographed it in more ways than I can count. Within a fairly small area, we can use brick streets, colorful murals, the historic train station, side streets, storefronts and the parking garage.
It works well for seniors who want a more urban setting without heading into Downtown Orlando. We can create bright, colorful photographs and then walk a few minutes to get something moodier or more editorial.
This best-friend senior session in Downtown Winter Garden shows the colorful and playful side of the area.
For a completely different look, Josh’s editorial-inspired Downtown Winter Garden session used the train station, mural, parking-garage steps and rooftop. He wore one denim outfit, but changing the backgrounds and lighting gave us plenty of different photographs.
We also combined Downtown Winter Garden with Oakland Nature Preserve for Sebastian’s Winter Garden senior pictures.
Downtown Winter Garden may be a good fit if your senior wants: color, brick, murals, rooftops, streets or a more modern look.

Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park gives us greenery, trails, boardwalks and softer natural backgrounds without leaving the Orlando area.
It can photograph very differently depending on the senior and what we bring into the session. For Josh’s Mead Botanical Garden senior pictures, we used layered outfits, his acoustic guitar and the natural setting around the garden. We also created meaningful worship photographs at the end of his session.
For a completely different senior, Mead became the setting for a book-lover-inspired senior session with stacks of books, a chair and a family quilt.
That’s why I don’t think a location automatically determines what the finished photographs will look like. The senior, wardrobe, props and ideas we bring into it make the difference.
Mead Botanical Garden may be a good fit if your senior wants: greenery, garden paths, boardwalks, books, music or a nature-inspired setting close to Orlando.

Downtown Orlando gives us a stronger city look with historic buildings, colorful walls, interesting streets and more modern architecture.
During Keeleigh’s Downtown Orlando senior pictures, we used Church Street, CityArts and several unexpected places we noticed while walking. That’s one of my favorite parts of photographing downtown. I’m always watching the light and looking for a background that works with what the senior is wearing.
Downtown sessions can feel colorful, fashion-inspired, dramatic or playful. Small changes in clothing and lighting can take the photographs in a completely different direction.
Downtown Orlando may be a good fit if your senior wants: architecture, city streets, murals, color or a fashion-inspired look.

Lake Louisa is one of my favorite places for senior pictures in Clermont. It gives us open fields, natural paths, tall grass, rustic fences, trees and water within the same park.
One senior wanted something outdoors that fit his laid-back, country style. Lake Louisa gave us exactly that, along with a place to photograph his Eagle Scout uniform and the tree he had been waiting all evening to climb. You can see more from his Lake Louisa senior session in Clermont.
Mia’s session shows a completely different side of the park. Her senior pictures began inside a Clermont record store, and then we carried the music connection into Lake Louisa with her guitar and a few records. She also wore a floral dress in the fields and a white dress near the water.
Her Clermont senior pictures at a record store and Lake Louisa are a great example of using two very different settings while keeping a personal thread running through the session.
Lake Louisa may be a good fit if your senior wants: fields, tall grass, trees, water, sunset light or room to incorporate meaningful props.

A beach session gives us movement, open sky, water and a setting that feels completely different from a park or downtown location.
Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral has the shoreline, but it also gives us a boardwalk, dunes and rocks. Those extra backgrounds help us create more than one look before we ever reach the water. You can see them in these Jetty Park senior pictures, along with some of my advice for planning a beach session.
Cocoa Beach and Ponce Inlet are other options I consider depending on the senior, the look we want and the session plan.
Beach weather can change quickly, so this is a location where flexibility matters. Wind can also become part of the photographs, especially with a dress or outfit that has movement.
The beach may be a good fit if your senior wants: water, sand, movement, open sky or a relaxed coastal setting.

Winter Park gives us several location options in one general area. Park Avenue has storefronts, sidewalks and classic architecture. Casa Feliz brings in historic details and textured walls, while Rollins College has Mediterranean-inspired architecture, ivy and lakeside views.
This senior portrait session near Casa Feliz shows some of the different backgrounds available in the area.
Winter Park can also support a creative concept. Keeleigh’s 1970s-inspired senior pictures used bell-bottoms, vintage sunglasses and a retro-inspired edit to give familiar Winter Park backgrounds a completely different personality.
Winter Park may be a good fit if your senior wants: classic architecture, ivy, boutiques, gardens or a vintage-inspired look.

Celebration has pastel buildings, bridges, water, palm-lined streets and Downtown Diner.
Addie already knew she wanted part of her senior experience to have a 1950s theme. Downtown Diner gave us the retro setting she needed, and her red polka-dot dress, hair, makeup and props brought the idea together.
Her 1950s-inspired senior session in Celebration is a good reminder that a location can do more than give us a pretty background. It can help tell the story behind the idea.
Celebration may be a good fit if your senior wants: pastel color, bridges, palm trees, a playful downtown setting or a creative theme.

Your senior pictures do not have to happen at one of the locations on this list.
A record store, bookstore, coffee shop, sports field, school or another place connected to your senior can be a much better choice than picking a location simply because everyone else uses it.
You also don’t need to know exactly how your idea will translate into photographs. Bring me the starting point. We’ll talk about access, lighting, clothing and how the location could work with the rest of the session.

Sometimes combining locations makes sense, especially when they give us two very different looks.
Mia’s record-store and Lake Louisa session moved from colorful indoor photographs to open fields and water. Sebastian’s session began at Oakland Nature Preserve and finished in Downtown Winter Garden. Those combinations worked because each setting added something different.
We’ll talk through your ideas during planning and decide what makes sense for the session we’re creating.
Class of 2027 seniors are currently booking.
You don’t need to choose a location before reaching out, and your senior doesn’t need to arrive with an entire photoshoot planned. Some seniors know exactly what they want. Others have a few saved photographs or a general idea, and we figure out the rest together.

Then contact me about your Class of 2027 senior session. Tell me a little about your senior and any locations or ideas already on your mind. We’ll start there.
The best location is the one that works with your senior’s personality, clothing and ideas. Downtown Winter Garden and Downtown Orlando are good options for an urban look. Lake Louisa works beautifully for fields and water, while Mead Botanical Garden gives us greenery and garden paths. The beach is another option for seniors who love the coast.
